Our History
Our story begins with our parent company, House Foods Japan – the largest manufacturer of curry and stew mixes in Japan. In addition to curry and stew, we manufacture spices, dessert mixes and snacks. We take pride in providing the highest quality products for you and your family since our humble beginning in 1913.

Urakami Shoten, a company dealing in herbal medicines, is established in Matsuyamachi-suji, Osaka, Japan by founder Seisuke Urakami.

Urakami Shoten began selling curry (powder)

Construction of headquarters in Higashi Osaka completed.

House Foods Japan opens a sales office in Los Angeles, introducing Japanese-style curry products to curious American palates.

To celebrate our company's 90th anniversary, a new company tag line "Taste & Comfort" is adopted.

Developed together with JAXA for Japanese astronauts, "Space Curry" was officially certified as Space Japanese food (JAXA certification number JF004).
